The new catalogue is out, oh my, it’s gorgeous. As soon as I saw this set I knew I had to have it and if you don’t have much time but you love making cards it’s the perfect set for you! Even better you can get this free if you spend £150 as it’s a host set which means you can’t buy this set by its self.

My cards are 5″ x 5″ but they would look fabulous in any size you fancy, they would look sweet as 3″ x  3″ gift cards to pop on a gift.

I’d love to hear from you if you like my card designs so do leave a comment below. Thanks!

Here’s a list of the supplies I used today.

Todays card features the Beautiful You stamp set, combined with the lovely spotty designer series paper looks stunning. I also used the layering squares Framelits just to finish it off. I couldn’t resist making a co-ordinating box which holds 4 KitKat Chunky bars, a lovely gift for anyone.

Window Shopping – Happy Birthday To Me Card

Sunday, 14 May 2017

Hello everyone, I’m super excited to be taking part in this months Pootles Birthday Club blog hop its my first one ever and today is my actual birthday, happy birthday to me! I have a full day planned doing wonderful lovely things spending time with my lovely family and my horse Monty.

A modern card don’t you think? I have used a couple of different stamp sets and framelits dies to create this card, I love to mix and match them up as you get endless variations and they don’t disappoint. My usual style is clean and crisp, so for me I’ve gone a little mad this time but I love the result.  When i’m making special cards for friends and family I like to make my own envelopes, sometimes with the envelope punch board or sometimes I just make my own which is what i have done in the picture below and always add that finishing touch to the envelope as to me its not to be ignored.

I’ve really had fun making this card and these are the items i have used:-

  • Thick Whisper White cardstock for the base and stamped images 140490
  • Window Shopping stamp set 143265
  • Gergeous Grunge stamp set 130517 (soon to retire)
  • Layering Squares Framelit Dies 141708
  • Cupcake Cutouts Framelit Dies 141474
  • Rhinestone Basic Jewels 119246 (soon to retire)
  • Silver Foil Sheets 132178
  • Stampin Dimensionals 104430
  • Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set 120024

I do hope you like this project.

Falling Flowers – ‘OPEN ME’ Any day Card

Pootles Design Team Challenge Week 4

My fourth and sadly my last project for the Pootles Design Team challenge. I loved making this fun 3D card, totally inspired by my sister. I don’t get to see her very often as we live so far apart and her passion as if you couldn’t guess is shopping. So created this card just for her and will be popping in the post as soon as I have finished typing up this blog post.

The glimmer paper used has sadly now retired so I haven’t added to my list but a co-ordinating cardstock adding a touch of Wink of Stella would work just as well. I have listed all the other products I have used below:-

  • Falling Flowers Stamp Set 139556
  • Thick Whisper White Cardstock 140490
  • Island Indigo Ink Pad 126986
  • Old Olive Ink Pad 126953
  • Rich Razzleberry Ink Pad 126950
  • Archival Basic Black Ink Pad 140931
  • Solid Bakers Twine white 124262
  • 1″ Circle Punch 119868
  • 1 1/4″ Circle Punch 119861
  • Clear Block D 118485
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue 110755
  • Mini Glue Dots 103683
  • Layering Squares Framelits 141708
  • Brights DSP 138434
  • Regals DSP 138436

This is how I made it:-

  • Card Base – thick whisper white cardstock which measures 8″ x 5 3/4″ Score in half on the short side 2 7/8″
  • Little Bag – DSP needs to measure 3 1/4″ x 2″
  • Score on the long side 1 1/4″ – 1 1/2″ – 2 3/4″ – 3″
  • Score on the short side 1/4″
  • Burnish the score lines and cut out the little square at the bottom then make tiny cuts up to your score line so you can see how it folds to make up the little bag which is quite sturdy for something so small – make and glue on your handles BEFORE making up the box.
  • Handles – DSP measures 2 1/4″ x 1/8″ gently use your bone folder to create a curve, just by eye glue the handles on to the inside.
  • Now the box can be glued together, I used tombow liquid glue for this.
  • Gently squeeze the sides in at the top using fingers and thumbs to create the inverted folds at the sides.
  • I used two of the layering squares framlits to form the layered base for my bags to sit on, I also punched out six circles from the bottom glitter layer to pop underneath the sides of the bag, as this followed the design of the DSP I had chosen and then didn’t become to heavy with the added layers.
  • I also cut out a square of tissue paper and stamped my design before tucking it inside, I didn’t glue mine in.
  • To put your layers together and adhere to the card for best results I used mini glue dots rather than a wet glue which I find can sometimes buckle a card.
  • I stuck the centre one down first then left 1/4″ space either side for the other two.
  • As there wasn’t much room to stamp a sentiment on the bottom of the card I decided to add my sentiment to look like a gift tag which worked well with the overall effect.
  • A perfect card to send to a friend who adores shopping, you could even pop a little hand written note inside too.
  • Do let me know if you can’t follow these instructions or need further help, you can always contact me via my email x

I do hope you like this project. All supplies can be bought from my shop using the link at the top.  I also welcome your comments and any questions, scroll down and leave me a comment.

Happy Easter Box and Card

Pootles Design Team Challenge Week 1

Showcasing the Falling Flowers stamp set

Oh my goodness I’m so looking forward to showing off this beautiful stamp set. Just to quickly explain, there is a challenge each month for five new designers to showcase a stamp set chosen by Sam, we had no idea what it would be until it arrived in the post and I can honestly say I had a big smile on my face when I received mine.

My first project for you is an Easter one. I wanted to do something bright and cheerful and looking out of my window at the beautiful daffodils I was inspired to make this simple box and matching card.

I had great fun making these, I love 3D projects and always like to make a matching card or gift tag to go with each. The box is a great size and measures 6 1/4″ wide 2 3/4″ depth and 2 3/4″ in height. The card is a lovely 4″ x 4″, a great size. I have listed below all of the products I have used:-

Pretty Gift Box, Card and Tissue Box Cover

Had so much fun creating these three pretty things to give away to a friend, so simple but cute don’t you agree. I couldn’t resist adding the tissue box cover which wasn’t my idea but the lovely JanB you can find her blog www.janbcards.com and a great video tutorial on how to put it together. Here’s a list of all the products I used below and how to buy them:-

Super Simple Happy Birthday Card

I’ve just received the window shopping stamp set and just can’t tell you how much I love it. The pretty flowers in the square are as pretty as a picture so that’s what I decided to do with this one, it doesn’t need very much at all. I stamped with basic black used wink of Stella on the flowers, added a few pearls and set it inside a raised frame. I used the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set for happy birthday but to be honest you could use quite a few of the others too.
